A transit is a moving planet touching your birth chart, a current arriving on a timetable written years ago.
What it means
Transits are how astrology talks about timing. Where the planets are now contacts the positions they held at your birth, and the quality of that contact describes the season you are in: growth, delay, disruption, or revelation. Slow outer-planet transits last months or years, while fast Moon transits last only hours.
In your chart
Your birth chart shows where a transit lands, and the house it activates shows the life area it touches. This is why two people under the same sky can experience the same transit as very different events.
